The Simple Radicals - New Revolution (Official Lyric Video)
"I do not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it."
- Evelyn Beatrice Hall
At its heart, New Revolution is not a song that supports any single cause, other than the right of free speech, free thought, and the free expression of ideas. In today's heated political climate, where there is an ever-increasing stench of violence that threatens oppression, and thought-suppression, here is a rock band with a simple, yet powerful message, that calls for a new revolution. Not one of violence, but of the mind.
Having entered this new age, where expressing any radical thought leads to attacks from those of opposite belief, whether it be through social media trolling, or using fake news as media manipulation, here is at least someone taking the point of view that no matter what you're for or against, when we stop speaking out for what we believe, we have sacrificed the most basic freedom our forefathers fought for.
Editors note: Judging by the comments you see below, the song and video have become a real conversation starter, amongst people that passionately love the video as dislike it, which is completely fine. The one thing that people have noted is that no comments are being deleted, which was a decision made by the band, as a testament to the freedom of speech that inspired the song and the video.
Who are the Simple Radicals?
A retro hard rock band from the great blues and rock city of Chicago, Illinois, featuring John Malkin on Lead Vocals and Rhythm Guitar and John Griffin on Lead Guitar. Together, they capture the passion and energy of their collective musical experience, with different tastes, sounds, and styles. The music they create is raw, visceral rock 'n' roll - poignant, from the heart, topical and direct.
